Remembering time in combat
The College of Lake County hosted its annual Veterans Day ceremony Friday, with a Navy captain as the keynote speaker. Capt. Paul Roach was a combat trauma surgeon who led a medical and surgical company that supported a Marine Corps offensive in southern Afghanistan in 2014.
Roach's speech focused on his meaning of Veterans Day: memories.
"I visit Afghanistan or Afghanistan visits me probably every day of my life," Roach said.
