What took so long?

I'm 74 years old and have been aware of the existence of the "casting couch" in Hollywood all my adult life. So, in all these years, why haven't outspoken actresses like Jane Fonda, Meryl Streep and others spoken up years ago to end this well-known practice and save so many who followed them from this awful thing? Was their success more important than their morality? All those who chose to ignore it perpetuated its existence and should be ashamed of themselves.
