Neil Patrick Harris book tour coming to Woodridge

Actor, author and magician Neil Patrick Harris is coming to Woodridge in December to promote "The Magic Misfits," the first book in his new series for middle-school readers.

Harris will appear at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Bobak's Signature Events, 6440 Double Eagle Drive, Woodridge, as part of a program sponsored by Naperville-based Anderson's Bookshop.

Tickets are available exclusively at NPHAndersons.brownpapertickets.com.

The book features a street magician, Carter, who runs away and never expects to find friends and magic in a sleepy New England town. But things change as greedy B.B. Bosso and his crew of crooked carnies arrive to steal everything they can.

Carter joins five like-minded kids to use teamwork and magic to save the town.

Harris is an actor, producer, director, host and author who also has served as president of the Academy of Magical Arts. His memoir, "Choose Your Own Autobiography," was a New York Times best-seller.
