Gun ownership per capita - per 100 residents followed by homicides by firearms per one million residents:

U.S.: 112, 29.7; Canada: 31, 5.1; Germany: 30, 1.9; Australia: 24, 1.4.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 45.9 million American adults, 20 percent of the U.S. adult population, suffer from some form of mental illness with 9.2 million adults suffering day-by-day debilitating serious mental illness.
