What flag stands for

I'm so upset by the actions against our American flag. When the flag is raised and the national anthem sung, I cry. Why? Remembering the history of this great nation and the men and women who fought and fight for me, is very personal.

All the people in the military stand up for me. All they do is follow orders and give of themselves and their families. They do their duty without questions but with compassion. We cannot thank or honor each and every person personally; however, we can standing during the national anthem to show them we care.

If you are hurting because of injustice, then peacefully protest the institution that caused it, not our flag.

Remember what our flag stands for: 13 stripes for the original colonies, seven red stripes for hardiness and valor, six white stripes for purity and innocence, 50 stars for each state in the union and the blue for vigilance, perseverance and justice and the men and women who serve in our military. Bless them all.

Stop the hate.
