Bangs Lake could host IHSA fishing tournament

The Wauconda village board will meet Tuesday to consider a special event permit for a bass fishing tournament on Bangs Lake, as well as other issues.

Streamwood High School's bass fishing team wants to host the tournament on Wauconda's big lake Oct. 21. The catch-and-release tournament would begin at 6 a.m. and involve about 45 participants, according to village documents. Boat launch and weigh-in would take place at Lindy's Landing.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at village hall, 101 N. Main St.
