FIA's Diwali Mela features Bollywood singer Richa Sharma

Schaumburg, IL: If you like Bollywood music, if you enjoy the Sufi and bhajan genre of Indian songs, if you want to network with successful people of the Indian community, you should attend FIA's hosted Grand Diwali Mela on October 1st at Renaissance Convention Center,1551 Thoreau Drive N, Schaumburg, IL 60173.

"We have something for everyone," FIA Founder President Sunil Shah summed it up aptly. Local artists will start performing from Noon. However, the concert will begin at 5 PM.

The featured Bollywood melody queen, Richa Sharma, gave her playback voice to nearly 75 movies. "It's Richa's first visit to Chicago," said FIA President, Mukesh Shah. Her other US shows have been sold out, he added.

Richa made her debut in Bollywood with Sawan Kumar's Salma Pe Dil Aa Gaya in 1996 and followed it up by a number of films until the big hit came by in the form of Taal where she sang for A.R. Rahman.

Thereafter a spate of hits followed, Zubeidaa, Saathiya (A.R. Rahman); Hera Pheri (Anu Malik); Khakee (Ram Sampath); Tarkeeb (the song "Duppatte Ka Palo"), Baghban (Title Song for Aadesh Shrivastava); Soch (the song "Nikal Chali Be" for Jatin-Lalit); Rudraksh, Kal Ho Naa Ho (Sad version of the title track for Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy); Gangajal (Sandesh Shandilya); Popcorn Khao Mast Ho Jao (Vishal-Shekhar), Saawariya (Monty Sharma), and Om Shanti Om (Vishal-Shekhar) and the most popular song for Kaante ("Mahi Ve" for Anand Raaj Anand).

FIA is organizing the Grand Diwali Mela in association with Indian Association of Greater Chicago.

The event chairman is Deepak Kant Vyas, CEO of Redberri. Chief guest will be Dr. Anil Oroskar and Dr. Asha Oroskar, Chairpersons of Orochem. Guests of honor is Anil Loomba, CEO of Home Mortgage Solutions, and Brij Sharma, Founder & President of PowerVolt.

FIA founder and past president, Onkar Singh Sangha, stated that the uniqueness of this event is that everybody can afford the show. The tickets are for $10 (without seating), $25 (seating), and $100 (VIP preferred seating and dinner).

Tickets are available at www.sulekha.com. FIA is strongly advising potential attendees to buy the ticket online to avoid rush at the show.

About two dozen prominent local companies are sponsoring the event. Nearly 25 booths for food, jewelry, and ethnic costumes have been booked. Businesses that want to take advantage of the large crowd are encouraged to contact FIA immediately for booths and sponsorships.

About 3,000 people are expected to attend this event.
