Church joins with Boomers players to deliver food
On August 29th Schaumburg Boomers baseball players lent helping hands to off load fresh vegetables, meats and non-perishable groceries from the Northern Illinois Food Bank truck in Hanover Park.
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Schaumburg sponsored the mobile food pantry in partnership with Hanover Township. Volunteers from the church and the team also helped load groceries into people's cars.
Over 110 grateful families were sent home with much needed food items in time for the Labor Day Holiday.
Boomers team players who participated included Michael Wood, Argenis Aldazoro, Kagen Hopkins and Jack Parenty along with volunteers from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
