Aurora clubs to host membership drive event Sept. 11

The Aurora Junior Woman's Club and Aurora Children's Dental Service invites women, age 18 and older, interested in becoming members to attend the next meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at Cool Acres Park Indoor Shelter, 500 Clearwater Drive, off Route 25, in Aurora.

The meeting will feature food, drinks and guided painting. Those interested in attending should contact membership chair Lesley Myers at lesley.myers@mchsi.com.

"You do not have to live in Aurora to be part of our organization," said Madelyn Weed of Sugar Grove. "Our members are from up and down the Fox Valley. We are technically two organizations, but one membership. We have a great time together and provide a variety of philanthropic services to those in need right here in our community."

The Aurora Junior Woman's Club/Aurora Children's Dental Services are philanthropic organizations made up of women from throughout the Fox Valley and has been dedicated to serving the needs of local children and families for more than 50 years. They meet monthly and host two fundraisers each year. Profits go back to the community in the form of dental work for children who otherwise would not be able to afford the care. They also fund donations to local school programs and other local charitable endeavors.
