Registration Now Open for 2017 Rotary Race for Charity

Registration is now open for the 20th Annual Rotary Race for Charity 5K Run and 3K Walk. The event will be held on Saturday morning, September 9th at Kildeer Countryside School, Long Grove.

The Race is organized by the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods. They anticipate over 400 preregistered runners and walkers. Walk-ins are encouraged the morning of the event. Many more will be in attendance to cheer, to help, and to enjoy the traditional pancake and sausage breakfast.

Lyle Staab, Hawthorn Woods, Race Director for this year's event observed, "Last year's event was a great success, with over 600 participants raising more than $40,000 for local charities. We're expecting a great turnout and result again this year." In the twenty years the Club has been sponsoring the event, they have raised approximately $300,000 for their own Rotary Charitable Foundation as well as approximately $1,200,000 for the participating charities.

Registration may be made directly online at RotaryRace.org. Personal fund raising pages may also be created at the same time.

The charities participating in the event this year include:

*Riverside Foundation. Serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing high-quality care and programs at their residential facilities and work and activity center.
