Lions cut Kaaya and Williams, trade Bademosi

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - Quarterback Brad Kaaya and linebacker Antwione Williams are among the players cut by the Detroit Lions as they trimmed their roster to 53 players.

Detroit also traded cornerback Johnson Bademosi to the New England Patriots for a draft pick.

The Lions released tackle Nick Becton on Saturday. They waived linebacker Thurston Armbrister, cornerbacks Adairius Barnes and Josh Thornton, wide receivers Jace Billingsley, Dontez Ford, Michael Rector and Noel Thomas, safeties Alex Carter and Rolan Milligan, defensive tackles Ego Ferguson, Derrick Lott and Caushaud Lyons, center Leo Koloamatangi, tight ends Khari Lee, Scott Orndoff, Robert Tonyan and Cole Wick, tackle Storm Norton and defensive end Pat O'Connor.

Detroit put punter Sam Martin on the reserve/non-football injury list and tackle Taylor Decker on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
