Girls volleyball: South Elgin has a 3-1 Saturday

South Elgin's girls volleyball team went 3-1 on Saturday to finish second in the Silver Division of the West Aurora tournament.

The Storm defeated Genoa-Kingston, Romeoville and Plainfield South before losing to St. Ignatius.

Angie Negron (23 kills), Hayley Fisher (16 kills), Elizabeth Vedrine (14 kills), Casie Swanson (19 digs, 25 assists), Sarah Murray (11 digs) and Kendall Richardson (25 assists) led South Elgin on the day.

West Aurora also went 3-1 Saturday, defeating Wheaton Academy, Genoa-Kingston and Plainfield East before losing to Joliet Catholic.

Farah Taki (17 kills, 6 aces, 10.5 blocks), Olivia McPherson (2 aces, 14 kills, 4 digs), Ally Riggs (8 aces, 6 kills, 69 assists), Chloey Myers (6 aces, 13 kills) and Kendra Battle (7 aces, 24 kills, 4.5 blocks) were the leaders for the Blackhawks (7-6).
