Girls volleyball: Burlington Central, Elgin post wins

Gabby Soto had 3 kills, 4 digs, 4 aces and 5 assists Thursday to lead the Burlington Central girls volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-22 nonconference win over DeKalb.

Also contributing for the Rockets (3-5) were Madison Leone with 4 kills, 6 digs and an ace, Kathryn Schmidt with 2 kills, 3 blocks and an ace and Katie Lomas with 14 digs.

Elgin d. Bartlett: Karen Aguirre had 23 digs and Kylie Graves 9 kills to lead the Maroons (3-4-2) to a 21-25, 25-17, 25-23 Upstate Eight crossover win. Also contributing for Elgin were Kennedy Venable with 4 aces and 9 kills, Inga Suceska with 22 assists, 18 digs and 4 blocks and Emily Graves with 5 kills and 2 blocks.
