David Adler Music and Arts Center Prepares for Annual Open House
The David Adler Music and Arts Center is preparing for the annual Adler Center Open House on Sunday, September 17 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.
This free, family-friendly event includes tours of David Adler's historic Libertyville home, an architectural scavenger hunt, a free art exhibition, and an introduction to the Adler Center's music and art classes-complete with an instrument petting zoo!
"Many people drive past the big white house on Milwaukee Avenue without realizing all that we have going on inside," says Molly Bunder, Adler Center Program Coordinator. "We hope families will stop by for kids' art activities, to see the art and architecture, and to explore some new instruments."
Open House visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the Center's new Early Childhood Programming featuring:
• Baroque to Baby Concerts: baby-friendly concerts for a musical break in your day
• Suzuki FUNdamental for Violin: an economical instrument readiness class
• The Prelude Program: a fun series of musical play classes featuring games and lullabies
"The Open House is also a great opportunity to ask questions about our Early Childhood concerts and classes," says Bunder.
Visit www.adlercenter.org for more information about programming, including classes, concerts and exhibitions.
David Adler, a renowned early 20th century architect, used his Libertyville farm house as a design studio and laboratory, routinely experimenting with the European architectural elements he would later use in the grand homes he designed for North Shore residents. The David Adler Estate was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
For over 35 years, the Adler Music and Arts Center has offered art and music lessons, classes, concerts, exhibitions, and other cultural offerings that make the Center a home for the arts in Lake County. The David Adler Music and Arts Center is located at 1700 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville.
