AAUW to learn about Upwardly Global Sept. 7

The American Association of University Women Batavia-St. Charles-Geneva branch will host Rebecca Tancredi of Upwardly Global, who will explain how the American labor market benefits from the professional skills of immigrants.

Upwardly Global is a national nonprofit organization that helps immigrants contribute professionally to their American homeland. Some are refugees, some have sought political asylum, and some have entered the U.S. through family reunification programs. Like immigrants over the centuries, they seek better lives while adding to American economy and diversity.

The program begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N. Fifth Ave., St. Charles. Enter at the back of the church. For information, contact membershipaauw@yahoo.com.
