Fair volunteers much appreciated

We had a very busy week at the DuPage County Fair providing a hands-on experience to all ages who came by to see hand-operated farm equipment from the early twentieth century: corn shellers, corn grinders and rope makers.

We want to publicly thank the handful of loyal volunteers who worked with us - it can be labor intensive effort of sorting; carrying buckets of corn, whether on or off the cob, or cracked; filling bags; bending over a lot, etc., that is guaranteed to leave you tired. Most of these volunteers worked 10 to 20 hours, or more, during the five days with a friendly, cooperative, and patient spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to Aimee, Carl, Julie and kids, Tim, and Wendy for coming back for another year, and to Mia who was new to this area of the fair, and especially to Dave for overseeing it all. Well done, good and faithful servants!
