Chicago man sentenced for Prospect Heights home invasion

A Chicago man was sentenced to six years in prison in exchange for pleading guilty to a home invasion Feb. 11 in Prospect Heights.

Emmanuel Sanchez, 26, pleaded guilty Wednesday. He was also ordered to pay $709 in fines as part of the plea deal, court records show. He received credit for 64 days in custody.

Prosecutors say Sanchez burst into a Prospect Heights apartment occupied by three adults, an 11-year-old and two toddlers after one of the occupants refused to open the door. Authorities said Sanchez hit a man with a glass bottle, struck him with his fist and accused him of having a sexual relationship with Sanchez's girlfriend.
