Island Lake trustee appointment delayed

The appointment of a new Island Lake village board member has been delayed so Mayor Charles Amrich can interview the nominees, officials said. The appointment was scheduled for Thursday night's board meeting. An appointment is needed because Trustee Debra Jenkins resigned in June. A village committee interviewed candidates Monday night, but Amrich wasn't part of that discussion, officials said. The board now is scheduled to vote on the appointment Aug. 24.
