Island Lake board could get new member Thursday

The Island Lake village board on Thursday could appoint a new member to its ranks.

Trustee Debra Jenkins resigned in June, creating a vacancy on the six-member panel. Jenkins said she stepped down with about two years left on her term because she and her husband are moving out of the village.

The potential replacement, whose name has not been made public, would serve until voters fill the seat until the spring 2019 election.

The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave.
