Remember those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer?
Well, they were nice, but probably not a whole lot like Warrenville's annual Summer Daze celebration that opened Friday and continues through Saturday at Batavia and Butterfield roads in downtown.
There's nothing hazy and lazy about this celebration, which opened with a concert from teen jazz singer Riley Elmore from TV's "The Voice" and features lots of music, carnival rides, food and a Saturday car show that usually attracts between 125 and 150 vehicles.
Now in its 40th year, Summer Daze is sponsored by the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce, Warrenville Park District and the city. Admission to the grounds is free.
The festival continues from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday. For a look at the full schedule of events, visit warrenvillesummerdaze.com.
