Island Lake officials to talk board vacancy

An Island Lake village committee will meet Monday to review candidates for an open trustee seat on the village board. The public meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave. Trustee Debra Jenkins resigned in June, creating the vacancy. It's up to Mayor Charles Amrich to nominate a candidate for the post, and it's the village board's job to approve the appointment.
