August Artist of the month
The Barrington Cultural Arts Center (BCAC) is pleased to have Sue Warchall as the featured artist at the BCAC gallery at the Ice House Mall for the month of August.
Sue has always been interested in art and art history, but spent her formal education years in pursuit of a science, math, and technology career. She studied oil and watercolor painting on and off while working and raising a family. After spending 35 years engaged in a very left-brain oriented IT/analytics career, she retired and began to pursue her art studies in earnest.
Sue has participated in classes and workshops in both watercolor and oil painting techniques at the Main Street Art Center in Lake Zurich, the Studio in Long Grove, Positive Strokes in Palatine, and the Palette and Chisel in Chicago.
Included in the workshops that Sue has attended were those taught by Frankie Johnson, Kevin Beilfuss, Kerry Dunn, Sterling Edwards, Dick Helland, Ratindra Das, Mary Qian, Frank Francese, Jason Sacran, ,John Lasater and Margaret Dyer.
Sue loves to travel and many of my works reflect the variety of people and places she has encountered both in the US and abroad.
