Saturday is Thunderbird night at Mount Prospect car show

More than 15 vintage Thunderbirds will be on display at this Saturday's Bluesmobile Cruise Night in downtown Mount Prospect.

The weekly car show, sponsored by the Mount Prospect Lions Club, is 3 to 9 p.m. near the Metra station. The Prospect High School Marching Knights Drum Line will perform this week, and a disc jockey will be spinning tunes.

There will also be a special appearance by Jake and Elwood Blues and the ruler-wielding nun, inviting visitors to come back the following week on Aug. 5 for Emergency Vehicle Night. That show will feature four bluesmobiles and Mount Prospect emergency fire and rescue teams.
