Pucks for Autism tournament raises $32,706 for SEDOL Foundation
Pucks for Autism, an annual three-day adult hockey tournament, took place this year on June 23-25 at Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills. Proceeds from the event went to benefit the SEDOL Foundation, specifically programs for autistic children and young adults.
The tournament consisted of both B and C divisions, totaling up to 20 teams participating in the event. The B division consisted of players that have played competitive hockey in the past 5-10 years and were typically ages 18-34 while the C division consisted of players whose skills ranged from beginner to novice. typically ages 30 and up.
By the end of the tournament, they raised $32,706 for the SEDOL Foundation.
Founded in 1991 to partner with the Special Education District of Lake County, the SEDOL Foundation works to help special needs children and their families by supplying funding and guidance for a wide range of supplemental resources and activities not covered by tax dollars.
