Cars, music, rides and more at Island Lake Lakefest, July 7-9

Island Lake Lakefest will take place from 5-10 p.m. Friday, 1-10 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday in Water Tower Park. Paul Valade/pvalade@dailyherald.com, 2015

The village of Island Lake will hold Lakefest Friday through Sunday, July 7-9, at Water Tower Park on Route 176 in Island Lake. Festival hours are 5-10 p.m. Friday, 1-10 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday. Carnival wristbands will be available 1-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.

The festival will feature carnival rides, music from a DJ, variety entertainment, and performances from live bands. On Friday, The Deciders will perform at 5:45 p.m. followed by Reely Dan at 7:45 p.m. On Saturday, EVO Band will perform from 6:30-10 p.m.

Saturday will include a car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Local vendors will offer food for sale, including Chi-Town of Island Lake, Luke's of Mundelein, Tropical Chill, BBQ'd Productions, and Gregorio's Pizza. A Lions Club Beer Tent will also be available.

A fireworks show over the lake is planned for dusk on Saturday. The rain date for the fireworks is Sunday.
