Coffee with a Cop hosted by Bloomingdale McDonald's
On Wednesday, June 28 at the McDonald's in Bloomingdale, officers from the Bloomingdale Police Department and community members came together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink some delicious McDonald's coffee.
"Coffee with a Cop" provided an opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department's work in the Bloomingdale neighborhoods. The officers also handed out coloring pages, stickers, pencils and police car magnets to the community.
The children that stopped by had a chance to go outside with Officer Jeremy Acosta who was happy to show them the lights on the police car light up and also all the neat things inside the police car
The Bloomingdale Police would like to remind the community to check out the free "Summer Concert Series" on Tuesdays until Aug. 22 in Old Town Park, 111 Third St. in the heart of Old Town. Also, be sure to stop by the Farmers Market from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays through Sept. 28, in the Tiffany Point west parking lot (northwest corner of Third Street and Schick Road) across from the Bloomingdale Post Office.
A special thank you goes to Officer Tim Roberts and Community Relations/Crime Prevention Officer Dawn Odoi, who coordinated the "Coffee with a Cop" event, as well as all the other officers that came and served coffee and mingled with the community.
