Bob Leonard 10K/5K River Run returns July 30 in St. Charles

The Bob Leonard 5K/10K River Run & Colonial Cafe 1K Color Run will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, July 30, at the historic grand pavilion at Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Ave. in St. Charles.

Both 5K and 10K runs are certified and the Color Run provides fun for the whole family as participants dash through five color stations in the park.

The 10K/5K course travels over the Fox River to the Timbers subdivision into Timbers Park, then back to Pottawatomie Park, while the 10K course continues into the Wild Rose subdivision before winding back to the finish line.

Proceeds benefit the St. Charles Kiwanis Club and River Corridor Foundation.

The St. Charles Kiwanis Club's funds will be allocated toward nearly 40 organizations that improve the lives of children and families in the Fox Valley such as: CASA Kane County, Lazarus House, Northern Illinois Food Bank, LivingWell Cancer Resources Center, TriCity Family Services, and the St. Charles Public Library Foundation.

The River Corridor Foundation's funds will be applied toward its mission to enhance the downtown St. Charles riverfront as a destination for cultural, educational and economic opportunities that are accessible to everyone.
