Terrorists are hardly 'responsible'

The June 5 Daily Herald had a sub-headline "ISIS claims responsibility…" I read this within 24 hours of hearing an interview on NPR with Indira Latshmanan from the Poynter Institute with a focus on journalism ethics.

A point she made was that such acts of terror are hardly "responsible."

Perhaps the sub-headline would be better stated, "ISIS admits guilt for murder…"

I would suggest the Daily Herald adopt an new policy with such writing.
