Schaumburg Dance Ensemble announces 'Nutcracker' auditions

The Schaumburg Dance Ensemble announces open auditions for the Nutcracker, featuring staging and choreography by Michele Leslie Holzman, Alberto Arias, and Lisa Sheppard. Professional and non-professional roles will be cast. The 2017 run will include twelve performances featuring over 100 dancers.

Ages 8 - 10

Minimum 1 year classical ballet training

(8 years old by 10/1/17)

11:30 am - 1:45 pm

Ages 11-13

Minimum 2 years classical ballet training

2:00 pm - 2:45 pm

Boys 7 - 13

No dance training necessary (7 years old by 5/1/17)

Saturday, August 26

10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Ages 13 - Adult

Intermediate/Advanced

Please bring pointe, character, jazz, and ballet shoes

NORTH SUBURBAN AUDITION

Auditions and rehearsals for select scenes will be held at the Dance Academy of Libertyville. Although a majority of the production will be rehearsed in Schaumburg, rehearsals for the select scenes will be held primarily on Sunday afternoons at the Academy, located at 746 E. Park Ave. in Libertyville.

Ages 8 - 10

Minimum 1 year classical ballet training

6:45 pm - 8 pm

Ages 11-13

Minimum 2 years classical ballet training

8 pm - 9:15 pm

13 years old and up

Intermediate/advanced.

Minimum 3 years classical ballet training

Call-backs (by invitation) for all auditions will be held on Sunday, August 27.

Dancers must register ½ hour before auditions and are requested to bring a photo. Online pre-registration is recommended. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the start of the audition. Cast member participation fee (for those selected) is $100 for performers cast in a single role and $150 for performers cast in multiple roles.

Performances of the Nutcracker are Dec. 1 through Dec. 10 at the Prairie Center.
