TV star Chris Colfer returning to Naperville
New York Times best-selling author and television star Chris Colfer, a Golden Globe-winning actor best known for his role as Kurt Hummel on "Glee," is returning to Naperville with his new book aimed at middle readers.
Colfer will present "The Land of Stories 6: Worlds Collide" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at North Central College's Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville.
Tickets are required and exclusively available with the purchase of the author's featured book at Anderson's Bookshop, 123 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville. Books also may be purchased by calling (630) 355-2665 or visiting andersonsbookshop.com.
A member of the 2011 Time magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, Colfer is presenting his sixth venture into his fictional literary world. This book tour stop marks Colfer's fifth visit to an Anderson's Bookshop event.
"World's Collide" marks the conclusion of five years of fairy tale stories.
This widely anticipated book once again follows siblings Connor and Alex as they deal with the various fairy tale heroes and villains no longer being confined to their worlds. With trouble brewing in New York City, the twins must figure out how to right the balance of the human and the fairy tale world.
Colfer's other books include "Struck By Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal," and the earlier books in "The Land of Stories" series: "The Wishing Spell," "The Enchantress Returns," "A Grimm Warning," "Beyond the Kingdoms" and "An Author's Odyssey."
Colfer has signed a deal with Fox to write the script and make his directorial debut in "The Wishing Well," the film adaptation of the first book in his "Land of Stories" series.
