Dundee Twp. Lions celebrating 80th anniversary

The Dundee Township Lions recently celebrated its 80th anniversary, as well as the 100th anniversary for Lions International.

This year Lions International will have its centennial convention on June 30-July 4 in Chicago where 25,000 to 30,000 Lions from all over the world will be attending.

Helping to mark the occasion, Vice Governor Susan Galvez installed the 2017-18 officers for the Dundee Club. Leading the club this year will be Jim McClung, president; Art Krueger, first vice president; Terry Seifert, secretary; and Dennis Reisbach, treasurer.

This summer, the Lions are planning a Legacy Project that commemorates the International Lions Centennial and provides a lasting gift to the community. One of these projects will be planting a tree at Lions Park in East Dundee.

The Dundee Lions meet at the Village Squire, 125 Washington St. in West Dundee.
