Media looks at what didn't happen
Julie Pace and Vivian Salama you missed so much in your article, "President silent on human rights," Monday, May 22, World and Nation.
President Trump looks to build coalitions with Arabs and Muslims to defeat Isis and radical Islamists. In case you haven't noticed, innocent people, and worst of all, children, continue to die at the hands of these losers. What good would it do to irritate, in public, a major ally in this coalition?
President Trump did mention women's rights in his speech; you even acknowledged that in your article. Are you sure President Trump did not address this important issue more extensively in private?
But as is usual for your industry, you look for something that was not said or did not happen and turn it into a negative. As you know, a Harvard study on presidential press coverage has the media at 80 percent negative coverage of President Trump. You must feel so … average.
