Walgreens;Red Nose Day at Eye Level Learning

Maria Calderon, Walgreens Assistant Manager, and Joan M. Caton, Eye Level's Center Director, got together earlier this month and felt a mission to spread the word about Red Nose Day through Eye Level Learning. This teaming was a way to expand the Eye Level kids' knowledge (in addition the supplementary instruction of math and English) in the area of social responsibility.

Red Nose Day became a week-long celebration at Eye Level Learning, in the Red Top Plaze in Libertyville. The students donned Red Noses, purchased at their neighborhood Walgreens (Milwaukee and Artaius Parkway), and enjoyed both the Red Noses and donating to help "end child poverty one nose at a time!"

Walgreens contributes fifty percent of the monies donated to Red Nose Day, a charity run by Comic Relief. The other fifty percent contributes to the manufacture and cost of the Red Noses; Walgreens makes no profit on this charitable venture. The donations are then distributed among eight charities that help children. Check out more about this program at www.walgreens.com and learn more
