Chicago Master Singers' concert to feature Bruckner, Mendelssohn works

Chicago Master Singers, under the direction of Alan Heatherington, will perform Anton Bruckner's Mass in E minor accompanied by the Ars Viva Wind Orchestra, and selected Psalm settings and chorale cantatas by Felix Mendelssohn.

The concerts will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 28, and at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 30, at Divine Word Chapel, 2001 Waukegan Road, in Techny (Northbrook). A free preconcert lecture will be presented one hour before each performance.

Tickets are available at www.chicagomastersingers.org or by mail. To purchase tickets offline, call (877) 825-5267 (TALK CMS) to leave a message. Single-ticket prices range from $15 (with student discount) to $48. Senior and group discounts are also available.

Chicago Master Singers is an auditioned chorus of more than 100 singers from Chicago and many suburban communities.

The chorus has performed sacred choral masterworks in collaboration with professional soloists and orchestras in the Chicago area since 1979 and on tour in Europe.
