Two men stabbed in Crystal Lake
Two men were stabbed near Taco Bell in Crystal Lake last night, police said. Police were called at about 8 p.m. to the 400 block of Virginia Street for a report of a stabbing involving several people with injuries, police said. Full story.
Prosecutors want 10-year sentence for man who touched women's feet
DuPage County prosecutors yesterday asked for a 10-year prison sentence for an Aurora man who has been banned from several suburban libraries for rubbing his bare feet on unsuspecting women. Omar Carlton, 45, of the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue, pleaded guilty in October to two counts of aggravated battery in a public place after authorities said he used his bare feet to touch women's feet last year at the Warrenville Public Library and in 2015 at the North Central College library in Naperville. Durbin, Duckworth to join Gorsuch filibuster
Illinois' two senators are among Democrats who plan to filibuster Neil Gorsuch's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin of Springfield, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee who voted "no" when Gorsuch gained the committee's backing yesterday, said in a statement his decision to oppose Gorsuch is "not even close." Naperville man charged in beating and stabbing
A 21-year-old Naperville man, Alexander Iwerebon, has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery in connection with the beating and stabbing of an acquaintance on March 30, authorities said. Iwerebon, of the 1400 block of Swallow Street, is being held on $200,000 bail in DuPage County jail. Full story.
Wheeling man admits part in 2016 stabbing, gets 5 years
The second of two defendants charged with stabbing a man 27 times last April in Wheeling pleaded guilty yesterday. Javier Brito-Hernandez, 28, of Wheeling pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in exchange for a five-year prison sentence, the maximum available for the felony. He received credit for 344 days in custody. Full story.

With a day off today, it made sense for the Sox to postpone yesterday's game early and make the easy switch.
