Scouts seek food donations in Vernon Hills

Boy Scouts from Troop 273 on Saturday will distribute door hangers in Vernon Hills to encourage residents to donate food the following Saturday for a local food pantry. Families who receive a hanger are asked to fill a bag with nonperishable and nonexpired food items and leave it on their doorstep for collection by 10 a.m. April 8. Anyone who does not receive a hanger but wants to participate can drop off donations at Christ Lutheran Church, 595 Deerpath Drive, between 10 and 11 a.m. that day.
