Blackhawks' One More Shift to honor Tony and Phil Esposito
Tony and Phil Esposito will take part in the next One More Shift promotion by the Blackhawks, the Daily Herald has learned.
The Espositos are scheduled to skate out on April 2 when the Hawks play their home finale against the Boston Bruins in a nationally televised game (11:30 a.m. NBC).
Tony Esposito played goalie for the Hawks from 1969-84 and won a team-record 418 games. In his first season with the team, he led the league with 15 shutouts. That is tied for the second-most in NHL history.
Phil Esposito played for the Hawks from 1963-67 and for the Bruins from 1967-76. His 717 goals and 1,590 points rank sixth and 10th in NHL history.
The first four One More Shift participants were Denis Savard, Steve Larmer, Jeremy Roenick and Ed Belfour.
