Elgin YWCA announces Leader Luncheon 2017 nominees
The YWCA Elgin is pleased to announce the 29 nominees for the 34th annual Leader Luncheon awards. The luncheon will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, at The Seville in Streamwood.
The Leader Luncheon is attended by hundreds of community leaders, business and community representatives and volunteers to acknowledge and honor women in Elgin and the surrounding communities who have made significant contributions to the arts, business and professions, communications/technology, education, public service, social service, volunteer/community service and racial justice.
These women community leaders were nominated by their colleagues and peers in the following categories:
• Margaret Hillis Award for the Arts: Gareth Sitz, Lillian Pagni and Dr. Sojung Hong;
• Beatrice Dorsey Award for Business & Professions: Carol Gieske and Nancy King;
• Marguerite Henry Award for Communication & Technology: Marissa Garza, Mary Dulabaum and Toya Webb;
• Harriet Gifford Award for Education: Alison Douglas, Brittney Walker and Kathy Rusniak;
• Myrtle Spiegler Gerberding Award for Public Service: Ana Lalley, Paola Velasquez and Patty Arroyo;
• Betty Brown Racial Justice Award: Danielle Henson, Margaret Spivey and Rabbi Margaret Frisch Klein;
• Marie Grolich Award for Social Service: Laurie Huske, Lisa Sampson Winchel, Tammy S. Armstrong, Tina A. Link and Vivian Maly;
• Marjorie Leonard Award for Volunteer & Community Service: Betty Rauschenberger, Carrie Zaccaria, Danielle Henson, Jennifer Colby, Jennifer Fukala, Jennifer Rakow and Karen Schock.
