Collective Group Show opens Friday at Water Street Studios

Water Street Studios' main Dempsey Family Gallery will host its first Collective Group Show, displaying the work of 14 artists who currently make up the Artists Collective.

The Artists Collective is a group of emerging, midcareer, and established professional artist/members who create and display a diverse range of outstanding contemporary art. While members of the Collective are a vital and vibrant part of Water Street Studios' community of artists, most live and work outside the Fox Valley region.

During the opening night reception, you'll get to meet each of the 14 artists while also enjoying live music, free food by Gaetano's Batavia, a cash bar featuring beer from Solemn Oath Brewery and wine from Bright Angel wines.

The Collective Group Show will open from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 10 and continue until April 2.

Upstairs at the Kane County Chronicle Gallery on the second floor at Water Street Studios, local artist Anton Witek will be display a number of his assemblages.

Opening reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 10. The show will be on view during regular gallery hours: from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, at 160 S. Water St. in Batavia.

Founded in 2009, Water Street Studios, a 501(c)3 nonprofit is committed to making the creative arts accessible to the Fox Valley community. Its mission is to be a vibrant organization dedicated to the creation and appreciation of the arts, and dedicated to supporting our core community of Water Street Studio artists, patrons and students.
