Geneva mayor to speak to Fox Valley Newcomers Club

Fox Valley Newcomers and Neighbors Club will welcome Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns as their guest speaker Wednesday, March 15, at the club's monthly luncheon at Fiora's Restaurant, 317 S. Third St. in Geneva.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a meet-and-greet before a delicious lunch is served and the group hears from Mayor Burns on the history of Geneva, Geneva today and the future. Burns has been mayor for 16 years and has lived in Geneva for 44 years. He has three daughters, ages 27, 25 and 23, and a new 17-month-old granddaughter. He has been involved in nonprofit organizations all of his life.

On the menu is choice of quiche of the day or Maryland crabcakes with rémoulade, each served with citrus vinaigrette estate salad, or chicken Caprese sliced roasted chicken breast with sliced tomatoes, mayonnaise, fresh mozzarella and basil leaf on Tuscan panini. Dessert will be bananas foster bread pudding- baked in a bourbon glaze and topped with a bourbon pecan gelato. Soft drink, tea or coffee and a cash bar will be offered.
