Life Span Series continues Sunday with 'Moral Development'

The Mental Health Ministry of Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva continues its "Life Span Series" with "Moral Development" at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at the church, 102 S. Second St.

The program will be led by clinical psychologist Tom Schevers, Ph.D.

Ever notice how little children, adolescents, and adults often choose and behave differently when it comes to right and wrong? Or how people choose the same behavior but for really different reasons? Or how people, who seem to be asserting the same values as you, advocate very different behaviors than you would?

This presentation will look at how cognitive, emotional and social development affect moral choices and behaviors. They will discuss how this topic relates to parenting and relationships, and why discussions about values, politics, and religion can be so confounding and difficult - and more.

The Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, established in 1842 and the oldest church in Geneva, is a diverse, welcoming community that endeavors to make its covenant a living reality. They provide religious education and opportunities for spiritual growth. They encourage individual and mutual responsibility as together they work to be a liberal religious voice in the community and a force for compassionate social justice.
