Nominees sought for Kane County Educator of the Year
Nominations are now open for the 42nd annual Educator of the Year Awards, which will be handed out at a special awards dinner set for Friday, April 28, at the Q Center in St. Charles. Tickets for the event will be available after Friday, March 31, through local school district offices.
For the past 41 years, the Regional Office of Education has held an award ceremony celebrating education in Kane County.
Nominees should be exceptionally skillful and dedicated individuals in any school, public or private, prekindergarten through 12th grade, who are planning to continue an active role in education.
They should have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and co-workers. They should play an active and useful role in their communities as well as in the schools, often distinguishing themselves as leaders. Their most important quality should be their superior ability to inspire the love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.
Nominations must be made by Kane County teachers or school administrators. Though if you know a teacher, administrator or support-staff person who is award-worthy, there's nothing wrong with making suggestions to your school's principal or school board.
Nominations are due by Feb. 27. Visit www.kaneroe.org/educator-of-the-year/.
