Fox Country Players offers 'Night of Broadway' Feb. 19

Tickets are still available for the Sunday matinee concert of Fox Country Players' "Night of Broadway." The concert will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Yorkville Congregational Church, 409 Center Parkway, Yorkville.

Tickets are $20, available for presale or at the door

All proceeds from this cabaret-style concert will benefit the Fox Country Players' Theatre Arts Academy that will take place this July at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove.

At the academy, students age 6 to 14 enrich their performing arts skills while preparing for their final performance.

"The kids actively participate in acting singing, dance and art. It's fantastic to watch them improve their skills over the two weeks, but the best part is to witness their confidence and pride when they hit that stage!," said academy director Jen Whittington. She added, "This fundraiser allows us to keep the tuition as low as possible so that everyone can reap the benefits of the arts."

The theme for "Night of Broadway" this year is "A Musical Mix-Up."

Thirty of the Fox Valley's most talented vocalists will perform songs from Broadway musicals in a nontraditional way.

Directed by musical theater veteran Meg McGarry, the concert is sure to keep the audience entertained. Piano accompaniment will be performed by Nan Grommes and Mary Ann Free.
