David Adler Music and Arts Center and Libertyville High School Host Pop Up Gallery for Youth Art Month
The David Adler Music and Art Center is pleased to partner with Libertyville High School to create a pop-up gallery of fine art for National Youth Art Month and the Village of Libertyville's own Fine Arts Month.
For one night only, Friday, March 3 from 5-8pm, the Fine Arts Month Pop-Up Gallery will take over an empty storefront at 111 E. Cook Avenue. Libertyville High School students will display two- and three-dimensional works of art. Select works of art will be raffled to provide a fine arts scholarship to a LHS student.
"Everyone can browse the gallery, enjoy live music by Adler Center students, have refreshments, and participate in the fine art raffle," says Heather Williamson, Adler Center Program Director.
Village President Terry L. Weppler, proclaims March 2017 to be Youth/Fine Arts Month in the Village of Liberyville in order to "promote awareness of Fine Arts in our village and celebrate the contributions of our residents engaged in music, theatre, dance, film, painting, drawing, sculpting, graphic and interior design…and all forms of fine artistry which enhance our human experience."
Throughout the month of March, attend these free family events celebrating Youth/Fine Arts Month:
On Friday, March 3 from 6-8 pm, Adler Center students will play live music at How Impressive! and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory as part of their #AdlerPlaysBack concert series and MainStreet Libertyville's First Friday.
On Sunday, March 5 from 4-6 pm, the public is invited to a Youth Art Month Exhibition Opening and Reception at the David Adler Music and Arts Center, which honors all youth artists participating in the month-long celebration.
