BCAC's announces Feburary Artists of the Month

The Barrington Cultural Arts Center is pleased to have Patrica Lindgren as the featured artist at the BCAC gallery at the Ice House Mall for the month of February.

Lindgren graduated from Northwestern University with majors in both science and art with certifications to teach both. She has a diverse background, having held positions as an analytical chemist, followed by a career as a secondary level science teacher, ballet teacher and performer and Flamenco dancer.

She also served her country with the Illinois Army National Guard as the state of Illinois' first female commissioned officer.

Following her service, Lindgren began a career as a real estate broker in Illinois, as well as opening her own realty company in Wisconsin. Then the economic slowdown came and more time opened up.

The additional time allowed Lindgren to put her art training to use, studying with Frankie Johnson at Main Street Art Center and in workshops with other accomplished artists.

Currently, Lindgren is working primarily in oils and has been doing a series of dancers. When she works on these canvasses, she states that she actually feels as if she is dancing ... it is a continuing passion. When she needs a break, she finds landscapes relaxing and atmospheric.
