On Feb. 16th at Five Seasons Northbrook: 'Get Out of Your Head, Get Into the Game'

Fusing psychology and movement, a free session designed to help people of all ages perform to their fullest potential is coming on Thursday, February 16th to Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Northbrook.

Led by Erica Hornthal, a regional leader in blending those two disciplines, the 90-minute program begins at 6 p.m. at the club, 1300 Techny Road, and is called "Get Out of Your Head, Get Into the Game."

"This will be an interactive workshop to help show people how to be free of abrasive or overwhelming thoughts that create anxiety and negatively affect their performance," said Hornthal.

Participants will learn how to utilize the mind-body connection to be more present physically and emotionally during a performance, game, job or even to maximize a workout, she added.

"From the moment people walk out of the workshop, they will be able to immediately apply the techniques that I share in their everyday lives," Hornthal said. "If you are getting in your own way at work, in school, or on the field, this presentation will enable you to be more productive, efficient, and less stressed."

Light refreshments will be served and the club is also offering free passes to the facility, which has been among the region's foremost tennis and health clubs over the past 15 years.

A licensed clinical professional counselor and board-certified dance/movement therapist, Hornthal is founder and CEO of Chicago Dance Therapy, a Northfield-based psychotherapy practice that helps clients of all ages tap into the mind-body connection to enhance performance and overall well-being.

Hornthal and Chicago Dance Therapy have been featured in Dr. Oz The Good Life Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, WCIU, WGN, and Reader's Digest, among other outlets. For more information, visit www.chicagodancetherapy.com.
