Dolphins player Leon Orr cut after arrest on drug charges

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Leon Orr has been cut after his arrest on drug charges in Florida.

Coach Adam Gase says the team cut Orr immediately after learning of the arrest during Wednesday's practice.

A Collier County Sheriff's Office arrest report says deputies stopped Orr on eastbound Interstate 75 on Tuesday afternoon. The report says the 24-year-old's black BMW appeared to have illegally tinted windows.

Deputies reported they could smell marijuana and that a search turned up marijuana wax and a substance labeled Kush Syrup.

Orr was arrested and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and felony possession of a controlled substance. He was later released on $7,000 bail.

Jail records didn't list an attorney for Orr.

Orr played at the University of Florida and was in his second NFL season.
