Route 83 in Mount Prospect closing for repairs

The two northbound lanes of Route 83 (Main Street) north of Central Road in downtown Mount Prospect will be closed beginning at midnight Wednesday for infrastructure repairs, village officials announced.

Northbound traffic will be diverted into one lane utilizing the left turn lane during the work, which is expected to take about 12 hours. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.

The Public Works Department will be repairing a water valve vault, officials said. Water and sewer services are not expected to be impacted by the repair. For more information, contact the Public Works Department at (847) 870-5640.
