Lake in the Hills man dies after crash
A Lake in the Hills man died early Saturday morning after a car crash in South Barrington, according to reports.
The crash happened about 6 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Higgins Road and Route 59, the Chicago Tribune reported.
A 2015 Santa Fe Hyundai driven by Michael Billings, 60, of Lake in the Hills, was traveling south when it hit a Ford 550 pickup truck stopped at a traffic light, police told the Tribune.
Billings was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m. Saturday at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
He was initially conscious at the scene but underwent surgery at the hospital and later died, the Tribune reported.
An autopsy conducted Sunday morning did not determine a cause of death, coroner's officials said.
