Geneva library hosts bestselling author Elizabeth Berg Dec. 5

Enjoy an evening with New York Times best-selling author Elizabeth Berg from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Geneva Public Library, 127 James St.

Berg will read from her new book, "Make Someone Happy: Favorite Postings," a collection of favorite blog entries and postings.

This book was done at the request of Facebook fans who wanted to have a book of postings to, as one person said, "keep by the bedside or take on a plane."

This book seems to have struck a chord; friends give it to friends, mothers to daughters, daughters to mothers, husbands to wives and vice-versa, and one therapist keeps it in her waiting room to soothe souls. Flowers will be present for all to enjoy, and refreshments will be served.

Berg won the NEBA Award for fiction for her body of work, and was a finalist for the ABBY Award for "Talk Before Sleep." Her writing has appeared in numerous publications, including Ladies' Home Journal, Redbook, and The New York Times Magazine. She has also taught a writing workshop at Radcliffe College.

Copies of "Make Someone Happy" will be available for purchase and signing. Only checks or cash can be accepted.
